SPAN 101

Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational Modes of Communication

Exploring Culture:

Lingrolearning helped me learn about different cultures around the world. This product helped me understand values and attitudes in the Hispanic culture, in addition to my own. This product also helped change my worldview. A challenge that this perspective revealed to me was my own misunderstanding of different cultures.

Engaging in Communities:

It is extremely important to engage with both global communities as well as your immediate community. Engaging with these groups help build ones worldview.

Interpersonal Communication:

TalkAbroad is an interpersonal oral and audio software that we did not use in Spanish 101. I do not know how to describe it because we did not use it. In this class, the usage of TalkAbroad did not exist.

Presentational Speaking:

Some of the presentation speaking we did in this class included a few of our projects. In these projects we spoke in a presentational manner.

Presentational Writing:

We also did presentational writing this semester. Some of the presentational writing included work that we did in our projects that we uploaded to Canvas for a grade.

Interpretive Listening:

We learned how to listen interpretively this semester by interacting with native Spanish speakers. Some of the Modes of Communication we used were verbal.

Interpretive Reading:

We read different texts this semester. Most of which were in Spanish, but some we in English. We did not read interpretively in any other languages.
