Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational Modes of Communication

Fall of 2021 has been full of Spanish reading. Each of our assignments online on the Contrasena platform required reading comprehension to complete. (PICTURE OF CONTRASENA READING ASSIGNMENT) Each unit included a Estrategia de comprensión: Escuchar, Texto, Vocabulario, Grammatica 1 & 2, Exploración cultural, Estrategia de producción: Hablar, and a Project. In each _____, there was a (Comprobar, Aplicar, and Co______). Of the four modes of communication (reading, writing, listening, and speaking), reading is the easiest for me. On this page, I will include screenshots of key study materials that we covered in class that I can use to further study and improve on.
Following, I will include some of the activities that were assigned in order to help us learn about Spanish-speaking communities and compare and contrast between the different cultures.
Then, write a short reflection paragraph that includes the activities you described above.
What was unclear or challenging for you? How did you overcome this difficulty? What did you find most interesting or compelling? What was your takeaway from the reading? How have you grown with each assignment?
One of my recurring struggles was the correct usage of Ser & Estar:
was distinguishing the tense of the verb based on the ending, mostly when the word was unfamiliar but also when I was familiar with the present but not other tenses. This was especially true with unfamiliar stem-changing verbs such as these:

When we went over the preterite tenses, I struggled to identify the 1st and 3rd person singular (I and he/she/it), however over time I have improved on this by memorizing the first person singular of the verb tenses until I get comfortable enough using them that I won’t need it.
For example, dormí is the preterite first person singular, and since I remember that the rest of the conjugation is: -iste, -ió, -imos, -isteis, and -ieron. Also, since dormir is an irregular form in all but the nosotros and vosotros forms, the
