Spanish 311 embodies the principles of knowledge expansion. Using activities such as Flip Grid, grammatical exercises and homeworks, short films and many other activities, this semester has been packed with information.
M0|Introduction
In this module, we introduced ourselves to our fellow classmates and the professor to prepare ourselves for future teamwork and class projects. Telling each other general information about ourselves in addition to expressing what we are looking forward to the most in this class. .
VHL Learning Central
VHL Learning Central is a foundational point within the class this semester. Group projects, grammar exercises and short films/ cortometraje exercises were found there along with Tarea/Homework for each benchmark in each section for the course. Providing factual information to the culture and history of Spanish. With a majority of the work being completed throughout the course, VHL Learning Central has aided me throughout the semester to get a better understanding of the course .

This Module also allowed us to respond to our fellow classmates as we look forward to working together this semester
M1|| ¿Realidad o Fantasía?
BenchMark:
Identify specific vocabulary and expressions necessary to speak in public with the use of ser and estar. As well as Create a connection between an idea and your personal experiences through discussion.
In the second Flipgrid we discussed video games. With video games being the new art reaching a level of interactivity never seen before. With proposed dangers of losing control of reality, I discussed boundaries to help distinguish between reality and fantasies. In addition, how do we benefit from this source of entertainment without generating real victims
Vocabulario & Tarea Gramática 1: Los verbos ser y estar
Using the correct conjugation of ser or estar can get the content across effectively, it requires the numbers and subject match. When trying to figure out which one works better, consider the context clues like shown in the homework assignment I have listed to the right.
Tarea
After watching a short film, we were required to enter the correct vocabulary word that match the description of the video and grammatically fit with the subject. Throughout the course we had multiple activities similar to this to open the beginning of the chapter.
Exam Oral #1
In this assignment I chose theme #1 to describe how our imaginations can change when we grow older. Talking from personal experience I said that as we get older our imaginations diminish and that when we are kids that we should try to hold onto our imagination forever. Growing up having a dream could be anything but as we get older factors such as bills can discourage us from using our imaginations and just facing realities.

Description
In this video , the objective was to give a short lecture to our classmates and answer the following questions along with give our opinions.
- Which traits of a person are innate, and which are acquired?
- What factors determine a person’s character?
- Our personality is determined by our genetic inheritance. We cannot change what is innate in our nature.
- Although a person has the genetic predisposition to behave in a certain way, this does not mean that they will do it.

Choosing theme #2, I reflected on my thoughts on family traditions, customs and values and their influence on an individual’s personality and relationships? Can the global coexistence between different cultures also contribute positively or negatively to our points of view?

The goal for this assignment was to correctly select the relative pronoun or adverb that best completes each sentence.
M3|La influencia de los medios.
BenchMark:Mass culture comes into our lives through the written press, cinema, radio, television and the Internet. These media entertain us, inform us, train us and transmit their values to us.
In this assignment I talked about “Tv Trash” which refers to television programs that use sensationalism and scandal to raise viewership levels. As I listed out a couple of shows, I also included a list of shows that are genuinely interesting. Including gore, comedy and other eye catchers within their shows, viewers are likely to be more interested, especially me since I handpicked them out. With international tv as well, there are channels with cultural influence everywhere that we go. With the viewers and broad casters having influence of what is shown, ratings are important.

BenchMark:Fufilling our responsibilities: we work, we try to cover our needs and those of our loved ones, and we pay taxes. How does politics effect you and how much power do you believe each politician should have? How much political influence do citizens have and how do multinational play a factor?

Reflection
This module visited the influence of multinational companies and highlighted the global influence. It also shines a positive light on the positive effects on the surrounding communities with the increase in occupations and increase in resources available to the inhabitants.
M5| Misterios del amor
In module 5, our goal was to describe love. With love having no limits or barriers, no reason, no logic; it is the place where we belong and where we all want to be. With love being a mystery everyone has a different relationship with love. Throughout the module using grammar practices and video responses we discussed the possibilities love will always be blind.

In the assignment I described my process of how I would present my project. In my presentation I will talk about why you should have a dog. During the presentation, we’ll discuss all the reasons why I think owning a dog is a great idea. Since we are all dog lovers, teaching them the reasons for getting a puppy inspires us. to each of us every day. We’ve broken down each section with pros and cons followed by my teammates’ experiences. As we go through the presentation, look at the differences listed that explain why we personally agree or disagree with each statement. Next, we will have a questionnaire to measure our effectiveness in our presentation and questions, if you have any.
In conclusion, this is why you should have a dog because there are many more good reasons why your furry friend will always be there for you in the end. There is nothing better than puppy love. After our presentation, we have the quiz to see how effective our presentation was in persuading him.

Reflection
When looking for a partner, in the video I expressed different qualities I would look for in a person. With the physical characteristics being what I was lease concerned in, I talked more about acquired or innate characteristics. This included behavior, manners, caring, responsibilities.

With this Flipgrid response post, the goal was to converse with a fellow class work. For this specific exercise, I concurred with my classmate JO G. When talking about love, we both concurred that love attraction requires more than the physical aspect but requires attention and genuine interest. Another interesting fact I mentioned is that if the love was genuine, looks wouldn’t really matter.
