During my senior year of training at Turquoise’s School of Dance, I received a trophy to celebrate my graduation. This trophy means a lot to me because not only have I completed my high school journey there, but my dance teacher who gave out the trophy recently passed away. This trophy reminds me of her bubbly spirit and all the memories I have during my dance training.
In high school, I got the opportunity to be apart of the chamber orchestra. I received this trophy upon my graduation, and this award reminds me of the fun times I had in the program.
These two trophies are from being a company participant at Turquoise’s School of Dance. Unfortunately when COVID-19 hit, the company wasn’t able to receive trophies. But luckily in 2021 when the studio opened back up, the company was able to celebrate another completed dance season.
During the Spring 2023 semester, I got accepted to be the secretary of ODU’s Dance Association for the Fall 2023-Spring 2024 school year. I am very excited to fulfill this role because I can spread knowledge about dance and gain experience from the business aspect of the dance department.
