As far as a career in automotive security and cybersecurity hardware, disciplines of a strong mental attitude and hardworking spirit are necessary. Critical thinking and time management are some of the most important qualities when considering a career like so.

Automotive security engineer

Critical thinking skills are a big must for a job like this. Secondary skills like designing and implementing are useful towards your success. Teamwork is a final consideration that is important. Working with others will allow you to create a final verdict based on the situation and its necessary needs.
My greatest surprise from this career had to do with the salary. I am aware that jobs in this field can range from 75 to 150k, but I was not aware of the earnings that can with this one.

Cybersecurity hardware engineer

Moving on to Cybersecurity engineering, it is a similar yet extraordinarily different field when compared to an Automotive security engineer. A job in hardware engineering would require an eye/personality for curiosity, teamwork, and communication skills. It is not so much of a difficult field in my opinion if you know what you are doing but it can be tedious.
Something that caught my eye with this career compared to the last has to do with the statistics that they mentioned. There was a whopping need of two million cybersecurity professionals worldwide. This alone would be surprising and beneficial to anyone since a job in this field would come instantly, most of the time.
