Workplace Deviance

Workplace Deviance is best described as the desire to cause harm to an organization. Cyber technology, in the world that we live in today, has become such in advancement that it can be described by many examples and elements. Protection software like McAfee, networking security, authorization, vulnerability management, and more. While these are all advancements that will most definitely increase our future success, we need to consider the plot holes or errors in coding integrity. No line of code that goes towards a software, website, or item is truly full proof. Retro consoles are a notable example of this along with certain phones since most of them are jail breakable. Old gaming systems have been left without software updates that allow users to install secondary software; while this is “okay” in a sense due to the age and content being installed on the console, it could be the exact opposite on something like a super computer or previous generation system that allows them to figure out a way to break into the new system based on the previous systems code.  Something like this was done on the Ps5 using the Ps2’s system code. Other areas of deviance could include access to sites that are not healthy for your workplace system. If an employee has access to an administrative computer and uses it to access malware corrupted sites, it led to invisible lines of hidden code in the background doing mischievous things. Overall, if we continue to update and maintain the code that we use with our operating systems, items, and other devices these issues should be reduced greatly.
