Dear Sydney,
\nCongratulations! You have made it through the semester! I know it was a tough one but you prevailed! You also learned a plethora of information about cells that you didn\u2019t know before, thanks to Cell Biology. It turned out to be a very interesting class, mostly due to an amazing teacher who was very knowledgeable in the subject matter and used amazing examples of they come into play in the world.
\nCell Biology also answered your previous questions about embryological development and how certain cells know where to travel to, whether they are a nail cell or a skin cell, and whether they are beneficial or detrimental. This is due to intercellular communications, cells that bind to another via gap junctions, and continue to proliferate into the organ or structure in which they form. This is a long process with many steps, but you learned the foundations of it. You also learned through the Smart Biology homework and quizzes, which was not a hefty load. The amount of assignments that you completed was nothing compared to what you first imagined.
\nYou also did very well! I know that you are an excellent student and it showed in this class with your grade. You kept up with your studying habits throughout the class, which goes to show for your quiz and homework grades. This class was an amazing experience for you. In your introductory letter, you also brought up diseases. One thing that is very important for you to know, since this course, is that an error, or genetic mutation, can happen in the blink of an eye. Cancer, for example, occurs from gene mutations within cells, in which they quickly proliferate and do not stop. However, you learned that cellular signaling and protein cascades can lead to apoptosis. Which, in this case, is an amazing thing function that cells performed.
\nWell, Sydney you had an amazing semester filled with interesting classes and amazing teachers, especially Dr. Steel. She made Cell Biology very understandable on a professional, yet exciting, level. Do not forget the things that you learned this past semester because they will greatly apply to your future classes and career. You\u2019re going to do amazing things.
