Experience

I have been actively involved in several student associations and competition teams, which have significantly contributed to my personal and professional growth. I was a member of the GMU Society of Women Engineers and Competitive Cyber at Mason from April 2021 to June 2022. I also served as the Family Chair of the Indian Student Association from March 2021 to August 2022, and I was a member of the Information Systems of Management Association during the same period. Additionally, I participated in The Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement from September 2021 to June 2022.

In these roles, I contributed by fostering community engagement, especially as Family Chair, where I helped organize events and build connections among members. My involvement in the Competitive Cyber at Mason allowed me to refine my cybersecurity skills through real-world challenges, which prepared me for the technical demands of the field. While I didn’t hold a formal leadership position in every organization, I actively participated in organizing events and supporting team efforts.

These experiences helped me connect deeply with my discipline of cybersecurity. Through the Competitive Cyber team, I applied theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios, which strengthened my understanding of cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and defense mechanisms. Networking with fellow students and professionals through these organizations also expanded my understanding of current industry trends.
