Ranking Individual Motives for Cyber Crimes

The motives for cyber offending crimes vary on the individual. I am going to rank them 1 through 7, from making the most sense to least. The number one reason I think people commit cybercrimes is because of money. This makes the most sense because you could literally make millions just by selling some valuable information that could mean nothing to you. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Coming in at number two I have got to go with revenge because everyone has been done wrong and wants revenge. I think getting revenge through the ending of a relationship by leaking porn is a little out of pocket, but they have to do, what they have to do to get the upper hand, but only people with no morals would do something like this.

At number three I have political, I put political third because it makes sense in a matter of why you leak information and have people help share it not knowing that it is fake or anything. A big example of this is when angry and young kids how are ideologically motivated and called “hacktivists.” They were supporting antiracism and antifascism and would post on wiki leaks Black Lives Matter stuff and information held for Ransome that was not paid off yet. I think people especially hackers should keep to themselves because that information could have turned out bad.

At number four I have entertainment because when you are bored and know how to hack your mise well act up. This person scrapped LinkedIn accounts for fun. This guy put millions of people’s information on a spreadsheet and sold it to the highest cybercriminal. Crazy right, people putting in all that work just because they were bored, at least it made them some money. Find your passion in life, do what makes you happy but don’t become a criminal.

At number 5 I have multiple reasons whether it’s money, ego, or psychological factors it just doesn’t make sense. You can make money by becoming a hacker for the government and have a stable high-paying job instead of being a cybercriminal. You can a real job and have a big ego as a boss or something instead of being a cybercriminal. You can have a real job with psychological issues instead of being a cybercriminal. These people just do not understand that getting a job isn’t hard if you know how to hack, you can make your own salary at whatever you want because there are so few people with the skill.

At number 6 I have boredom, if you’re bored make some money, but not by committing crimes. Becoming a cyberbully is a complete waste of time and if your kid has a device at a young age then put some restrictions on it before you give it to them. They could be getting groomed or bullied without you even knowing. If you are bored and you are committing cyber crimes go find a girlfriend, of your age or get a dog or something to keep you happy. Finally, at number 7 I have recognition, I put this last because do you seriously want to be recognized as someone who is a criminal at heart. Think about it, would you want to be on a date, and she asked what do you do, and you say cyberbullying or committing cyber-attacks. He or she would leave so fast. Imagine hacking twitter just to be recognized, people would hate you would get recognized for all the wrong reasons.
