Why are you interested in cybersecurity technology?

I am interested in cyber security technology because of my love for electronics and computers. I have spent the last 10 years working with the military and other tech companies and have found that so many of them have sensitive information that they want to keep private and with the growing amount of cyber threats that grow on a daily basis, it is only smart to lean in to a career that involves such information. While working for the military on radar, inside Intel on microchip production and a PCB prototyping company that took me to many companies, I have seen so much information that shouldn’t be leaked to the competitor (or opposing country) and want to do my part in the system to put my hard work into a task that can keep all of it safe.

After working so hard on systems that needed repair, I have always had the fascination on how things work. With cybersecurity, I can take an idea and find ways that will prevent use of a system in a manner that could be detrimental. I don’t believe that I chose this path as some self righteous method of using my knowledge to better my self image but as more of a way to fit into a position where I find excitement in my career and some form of a daily adventure. I have found that money doesn’t really create happiness in the work place and it isn’t what its cut out to be. You can find a job that pays all the money you could ever desire, but if you hate your job or the people you work around it doesn’t matter how much you get paid. It is hard in the adult world to find a job that you truly enjoy doing and to pursue the career that will make you happy is the best option in life.

The feeling of such hard work and problem solving being such an impactful act, makes it a very enticing career path as well.
