Hi, my name is Summer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a third-year college student studying Criminal Justice at Old Dominion University, where I plan to pursue a career in law. I am a responsible college student interested in obtaining an entry-level role within the legal system environment, working with dedicated industry professionals. I have a demonstrated history of showing leadership, initiative, and seizing opportunities to complete increasingly challenging tasks. I am hard-working and eager to learn while seeking to gain experience. My goal is to use my knowledge of the law to help those in need and vulnerable populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to taking CYSE200, I had considered several careers like family law, criminal law, and child advocacy law. However, as I have learned more about cybersecurity and the legal system, I now know there are other interesting opportunities. With cybersecurity being a growing industry, I have developed an interest in a career as a cybersecurity attorney. This As a student who has taken a course in cybersecurity, I have learned that these types of legal specialists work on legal issues related to data security and privacy. Their job can include a focus on an organization\u2019s legal compliance with laws such as HIPAA. This role is one of the most in-demand legal positions in the field of law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While my technical knowledge is currently basic, I do understand the importance of security through techniques that I have used such as multi-factor authentication and facial recognition to protect against threats. I have seen the impacts, and know people who have been victims of identity theft, data breaches, malware, and ransomware. Working in a field protecting against vulnerabilities that can impact not only companies, but customers, would allow me to achieve my goals of using my knowledge of the law to help people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
