Activity Summary #1

After completing the first half of this internship, I have learned so much. I have also been getting more involved as each day goes on. I really have enjoyed myself and i’m creating some great relationships throughout the office. Meeting all of the doctors and employees has been awesome.I started by first following Doc. Guinand as I watched him scribe patients and do actual injections. Now I am starting to take part in each of the activities. When it comes to the injections I apply the “cold spray,” to numb the skin and then I keep close attention to the ray machine and notice where Dr. Guinand is interested. Each injection is different but now I have learned what each one is targeting. I have also learned about all of the different nerves throughout the back that run all the way through the body. This has become beneficial when it comes to scribing patients, being able to notice which nerve is bothering them. I have also been helping Doc by calling patients back from the waiting room. While I do that if the patients are returners I ask how they are doing compared to their last visit. If they are new patients I run a quick diagnostics to tell Doc the quick version of what is causing them problems. I am really looking forward to the next half of the internship and have been enjoying myself. I am going to continue to work hard and get all the work done that is given to me.
