I can’t say that any of the artifacts was any more or less useful to me than the others so, instead of ranking them and listing them in numerical order, I’ve decided to list them in the order they appeared.
Artifact A
The artifact from module 4 was particularly interesting and engaging to me because it showed a sort of psychological profile of many of the countries in the world. Not only was that interesting to read about my own countries but, as someone who plans to travel extensively and is insanely curious about other cultures, was also an interesting thing to view about other countries as well. It was very applicable to me, I think, for that very reason; it was a great way to see which countries cultural profiles were most attractive to me as a perspective visitor, or even resident if things go my way.

Artifact B
The artifact from module 8 was a crazy one because it made me really think about my own actions, it was actually difficult to come up with examples to answer the question because I, first, had to almost write out a description of my own personality in order to find behaviors that contradicted that description. However, once it was all written out, it was intriguing to go through the chart and to find a kind of explanation for those behaviors. I also found that that explanation wasn’t always very pleasant… but I wanted to try to take the activity as a self-discovery activity that was showing me the places that I most needed to grow as a person.

The chart of subtraits; the green traits are ones that fit behaviors that aligned with my personality, the orange traits are traits that fit behaviors that have not aligned with my personality.
Artifact C
The artifact from module 10 was something quite different from anything I’ve ever considered because I’ve never actually given any thought to the fact that culture can have an affect on an individual’s relationship with time. I had considered the things from most of the previous artifacts- how your past affects your present, how culture affects your gender stereotypes, how your parents values affect your own. It actually took me a lot of time to consider my answers to each of the scenarios and I was surprised by how difficult it was to actually put a number on how long I would wait in each of those scenarios; I was also surprised by how long I would wait for each and the fact that my first thought was that I wouldn’t necessarily notice the time because I would be concerned in every scenario about why the person was late and if they were okay.

My view of time is that it is a form of currency, of which you only have a limited amount that you must use to its fullest potential. Choosing what you spend your time on is exactly like choosing what to spend your money on, except there are no returns or exchanges on time.

Artifact D
The artifact from module 11 was super fun for me because I didn’t expect there to be a correlation between my categorizations and my emotional connections with each color, but there very much was! I put together the neutral colors, the cool-toned colors, and the warm-toned colors and then I noticed that I paired “warm” emotions with warm-tones, “cold” emotions with cool-tones, and the neutral tones with “empty” emotions- ones that can’t quite be described. I found that very interesting considering in other countries people view colors differently even though neutrals, cool-tones, and warm-tones remain constant according to color theory. Now I wonder why they view colors the way that they do.

Artifact E
The artifact from module 13 was a good exercise in journaling, in a way. I found that I was able to list many things that currently made me happy and many things that had previously made me happy; I also found that though the specifics of those things might have changed, the general categories that they all fell into remained the same. I also found that I had a very interesting thought process in relation to whether or not I believed that happiness had a bearing on physical health. Of course, yes, I do believe that, and I do believe that that relationship is a positive one; but, I also believe that that relationship is a two-way street. Physical health can have a huge effect on your level of happiness.
