I am pursing a Nursing major, I chose this major because I want to become a nurse and then later a nurse practitioner. I have always had a passion for helping others so I have spent a lot of time deciding on a career where I can directly help people but also one that I would enjoy. I spent this last summer working as a in home PCA as a PCA, I would ensure that the patient remained on a specific routine and would assist them with anything they needed. Although I enjoyed it, I realized that a clinical setting is much better suited for me because I love being hands on whenever I can. I made a comparison to when I was dental assisting as an extern I enjoyed always having something to do such as, sterilizing instruments, cleaning and preparing for the next patient. Something I also loved was meeting and interacting with different individuals. I decided the best decision for me was to become a nurse because I get the ability to be hands on in a clinical setting and directly help others!
