ImmerseMe Reflection
Pronunciation
I think for the most part, the pronunciation sections were helpful. However, there were a few topics where I was struggling for the program to understand what I was saying. It would get frustrating repeating a phrase knowing I had it right, but the program just couldn’t recognize it. After A couple tries, I would just say it to myself and check online to be sure I had it right and move on. I think to extent this helped me more because it allowed me to continue to adapt my accent and phrases until I got them right which has always been something I struggled with.
Writing/Dictation Preview
I think that writing out every phrase helped me a lot. Forming sentences and understanding what to include in between different words has always been something that was more difficult to me. I really liked how you have to go through, and they have everything spelled out for you first before having you do it on your own. It was also very convenient for them to provide the accents for you within each letter.
Translation Preview
I really enjoyed the translation section because it tested my memory of the past categories. After pronouncing and typing each phrase it was a lot easier to be able to translate the sentences because I had seen them about three times each by then. There were some issues with the program understanding what I was saying a couple times but for the most part, this section was very helpful for me.
Immersion
This was the section that I struggled the most on. Trying to pronounce new phrases was difficult especially because they didn’t read them back to me first.
