My major itself is cyber security, I planned on working with computers somehow. I was in my junior year of high school when I finally decided on a major. Computers weren’t my favorite thing growing up; I was more into how things worked, so it was a minute before I could officially choose a major.  My father also influenced me to choose Cyber security because he knows I will be set for life when I get this degree. Before Covid-19 took over our lives I took a small class on Cyber security and I realized this is actually an interesting career. The class taught us how to decode, cyber vocabulary, and many other topics. The class didn’t go too deep into Cyber security but just an introduction. It took awhile to choose this major because I couldn’t tell the difference between Computer Science and Cyber security. I was unsure if they were related or the same field. Cyber security is a major where you cannot go wrong; every article I have ever read about it states that job opportunities are increasing every year. Most articles also say the military is the best way to start a career in cyber as well. One in particular talked out how going into the Air Force is smart because of the free training and you’re basically getting paid to be trained. Money shouldn’t be the only reason someone would want this major. I think the most important reason I am getting this degree is because I will easily find a job.  By taking this class and furthering my knowledge with Cyber security I should be career ready when I graduate in 2024.
