The Green Pulse: Girl Edition

To be honest, I am not naturally drawn to social media. I prefer being at the game, feeling the energy in the stadium, and reacting in real time rather than posting about it. But this project challenged me to step outside of that comfort zone and create something intentional. That is how The Green Pulse: Girl Edition was born, a sports persona that captures my passion for the Philadelphia Eagles, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Boston Celtics.
The name represents loyalty and energy. “Green” connects two of my favorite teams, the Eagles, and the Celtics, which are franchises built on toughness, tradition, and championship expectations. “Pulse” reflects the heartbeat of the fans. Whether it’s a fourth-quarter drive, a late-inning rally, or a playoff push, I love the intensity that sports create and the way entire cities rally behind their teams. “Girl Edition” is intentional. Women belong in sports conversations, not just as spectators but as analysts, storytellers, and leaders.
This blog is the foundation of my persona, and TikTok is where I bring it to life. I started this TikTok account for this class, and while I’m not sure if I will continue its long-term, it has been a fun and creative experience. Making videos, adding music, and even using AI to enhance my content allowed me to explore sports in a new way. I also love connecting sports to city culture, especially the food that represents those fan bases. This platform gave me a space to talk about what I enjoy in a way that feels natural, creative, and engaging. Whether I continue it or not, I learned that I could use social media as a tool to share my voice in sports.
Beyond posting, this project reflects digital citizenship. Green Pulse promotes respectful debate, thoughtful analysis, and community engagement. Instead of posting hot takes just for attention, I aim to create conversations. I ask followers for predictions and invite discussion in the comments. Sports are emotional, but they also require knowledge and perspective, and I strive to balance both.
The Green Pulse: Girl Edition is not just about cheering for my teams. It is about building a voice in sports media that is enthusiastic, informed, and engaging. Through this project, I’ve learned that even if social media isn’t my natural space, I can use it creatively and confidently. And just like my teams, I am only getting started. 💚
