Finalizing the Pitch

6/24/2019

Today, I finalized my portion of the pitch. I created a script last week for what I was going to say in my part of the pitch, but it felt too short. I looked back on the module about creating a pitch and realized that I skipped over the most important part — focus on the pain. I searched for stories related to Internet Safety and found the perfect story. The story was about a 13-year-old girl who made a mutual friend (that she did not know) on a school chat room. Amanda told this mutual friend everything about herself and he ended up kidnapping and assaulting her. I felt that this story was relevant because it relates to the problem I am trying to address. If Amanda had J.E.T. installed on her computer, this could have been avoided.

Conflict

After adding that story to my script, I had to merge a video of my slide show and my voice recording into one. Recording my voice was easy and creating a slide show was easy, but I ran into a problem when merging the two. My group decided to use OBS (Open-Broadcaster Software) to make the slide-show and voice recording, but I have never used this software before. After many Google searches and Youtube videos, I finally figured out how to merge the two. The only complication I had after that was that the audio in my video sounded off. I’m not sure how to fix it, but it is going to have to do.
