Upon learning the deconstruction theory I learned that what an author writes does not equate to their own meanings based on the language of the text.\u00a0 \u00a0Chopin\u2019s motif in the story addresses the binaries of fidelity and infidelity within marriage, with obvious leanings towards infidelity, the lesser privileged binary.\u00a0 However the story contradicts itself by revealing that marriages are perhaps stronger when there\u2019s brief liberties and secrets.\u00a0 If I were to improve my essay I would have addressed whether the story\u2019s theme was Chopin&#8217;s own voice\u00a0 directly addressing adultery within the time period of the story and when she wrote it or whether it was the narrator&#8217;s\u00a0 own thoughts based on the plot of the story.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<iframe src=\"\/\/docs.google.com\/viewer?url=http%3A%2F%2Fsites.wp.odu.edu%2Ftatum-fisherengl333%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2Fsites%2F11617%2F2018%2F12%2FDeconstruction-Sandbox-Chopin.pdf&hl=en_US&embedded=true\" class=\"gde-frame\" style=\"width:100%; height:500px; border: none;\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n<p class=\"gde-text\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sites.wp.odu.edu\/tatum-fisherengl333\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11617\/2018\/12\/Deconstruction-Sandbox-Chopin.pdf\" class=\"gde-link\">Download (PDF, 117KB)<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As Deconstruction\u2019s primary objective is to showcase how a text has already dismantled itself by using binaries I chose Kate Chopin\u2019s short story, \u201cThe Storm\u201d as evidence.
