Communication & Interpretation
My second criminal justice class (CRJS222) allowed me to further my skills in great attention to detail and communication. Embedded here is a slideshow presented by two other classmates and myself talking about the positive attributes of choosing alternatives to prison. We were able to take a lot of information and convert it into a short summary to express our view on this certain issue in the U.S. We also quizzed our classmates and found everyone else’s opinion, which created an open discussion. This can be especially relevant in future careers and open doors for many opportunities.
Alternative-to-Prison-CRJS222Understanding & Comprehension
In one of my first classes on campus (SOC201S), I learned the importance of digesting the information learned in lecture, instead of only taking notes. When you take time to understand material deeply, you develop critical thinking skills, retain information longer, and become more confident in your ability to engage with complicated ideas. This approach takes learning from a task into a tool that can shape both academic growth and future professional success.
Research-Paper-SOC201STechnology & Data Management
This being my first cybersecurity class (CYSE200T), I have learned an extraordinary amount of information regarding technology and the internet itself. My first journal entry gave me the chance to think further than just remembering relevant information; it encouraged me to think about the use of technology and its impact on daily life. Something more that I have gained from this course is a better understanding of how data is created, stored, and protected, along with the vulnerabilities in relying more on technology. This class, so far, has taught me not only the technical side of cybersecurity but also the importance of awareness and responsibility when it comes to working with technology and data.

Although these certain aspects are crucial to have within a career, I have also learned many other skills, including computer technology, accounting, marketing, and how to maintain organization while also expressing good time management.
