Now that the materials found outside of the box have been addressed, the user may protect their computer by forming solid personal habits. The first step in trying to secure a computer should be to create a strong password because the more complicated a password is, the more difficult it is to brute force. If a person is going to leave their computer alone, they should lock it with a password. If they really want to go above and above, they can encrypt their hard
drive. Avoid using public internet services if possible. If the user must access a public Wi-Fi
network, they should use a virtual private network to establish a secure connection for
themselves. The user can encrypt their traffic using a virtual private network; however, they must
unplug their device from the network after using the public connection. As usual, it’s a good idea
to steer clear of any unfamiliar websites; using a secure browser will help keep users safe.

Works Cited

“Work Remotely.” Microsoft Support, support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/keep-your-
computer-secure-at-home-c348f24f-a4f0-de5d-9e4a-e0fc156ab221.
