Cyber security has created the opportunity for workplace deviance because it has a created a a whole new way for employees of a company to harm the business. Probably the biggest threat that cybersecurity technology has given people is that if somebody is fired and still has access to the company computers, they can cause threats to both the business and the employees. People like this can do things such as selling the companies information to other people or countries, selling other employees information, destroying information that is in their system or creating false information, and many other things. A reason why that is such a huge threat is that if that employee has not been removed from the system and still has access to everything, then he/she may not even be seen as a threat and can do whatever they want without the company finding out and it is too late. There can even be an employee who has not been fired and is still working for the company or business and has access to all of the information, and that person can decide to do the same thing and steal information that can cause harm or create threats without anybody knowing. With the new technology all of the information is pretty much stored in one system, and if somebody has access to where the information is stored they can really do whatever they want to do and can cause major damage to the company and its employees. Even if the business has protocols set up in order to protect its employees and information and has protocols set up to tell if there is a threat and ways to fight against it, if the threat is coming from the inside, which new cybersecurity technology has created an opportunity for people to do, people are able to act defiantly much more easily.
