It can be difficult to tell if a computer is truly safe, especially if you have no prior knowledge or have not received any training on securing your computer, but there are multiple things that can be done to know that your computer if safe. One of the first things is password security. Your password should be something that only you know and do not have written down for anyone to see. Having a two factor authorization in order to login can also help make sure that the computer is safe. So to login either have it set so that you need to have two of the following three things: something you know, something you have, and something you are in order to login. This means that you can use a password, and then either have something sent to another device such as your phone or email, or you can use a thumb print or picture of your face as another way to log in. Another big thing to make sure your computer is safe, is just to use your computer responsibly. Using a computer responsibly means not going on any sites that can give your computer viruses, not clicking on any links that are sent via email or social media from people you do not know, using your computer responsibly means just using your computer for things that you need it for. There are also programs that you can purchase and download that will scan a computer looking for any viruses or vulnerabilities that can cause harm or trouble. Hopefully if you are employed you receive training, but if not try to find a training seminar or online training that can teach you tips on how to keep the computers that you use safe, and also teaches ways that show you what to look out for when using your computer and what to do to secure your information if there is a threat.
