The increase use of technology and computers has definitely made the world safer in some ways, but there are other things about it that have made the world less safe. One way that computers have made the world more safe is by creating a network where all information can be stored. This makes the world safer because it means that organizations such as the police and FBI can keep track of people who are suspected of crimes and have access to everybody’s records, so it is a lot harder to commit crimes and get away with it. Having all information stored on a computer or network also makes the world less safe because with all information in one place, if somebody who should not have that information either breaks in to the computer system or gets that information, then they can easily use it to harm people. Another way that computers have made things safer is by providing training and programs that teach people how to keep their information secure, how to detect threats, and how to react to them, so people have the benefits of using computers while staying safe. The final reason that computers have made the world safer is that they have provided people with an opportunity to be able to look people up and possibly even do a background check on other people before they meet, making it so that people are not just meeting with total strangers who possibly have bad intentions. Another reason that it has made the world less safe is although I feel like it helps prevent physical crimes, cybercrime rates have gone through the roof with more and more criminals commiting crimes online. My final reason for them making it less safe is that it makes it easier for people to stalk and harass other people through social media and other means.
