About Me
I certainly do not fit the mold of the typical ODU student. I have taken the “long road”. I am 48 years old. I graduated from the Newport News Apprentice School with academic honors in 1994. I graduated from Thomas Nelson Community College in 2016 with an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. I have over 22 years of manufacturing experience and am currently an Engineering Analyst at Continental Automotive in Newport News, VA. As stated on the HOME page, I am working in the Components Machining and Grinding Department where I own most of the grinding processes. Fluid mechanics are a vital part of successfully machining and grinding metals. The ability to deliver cutting fluid to the point of tool contact is imperative. This is more often today, being done using high pressure pumps providing flow through passages in cutting tools and even grinding wheels. I am hoping this class will give me better insight and the ability to make improvements to my processes.
