The first major that odu offers that is related to cybersecurity is Criminal Justice. These two majors go hand in hand with one another. You can’t have one without the other. Criminal justice uses cybersecurity every day for almost everything. This goes from the enhanced technology in the police department, to controlling who has access to classified information. Cybersecurity over the years plays a very important role in helping the community stay safe and be able to browse the web with ease. 

  Another major that odu offers that is related to cybersecurity is engineering. Engineering also is very important to cybersecurity. Engineering uses both mathematics and science to find solutions to projects they are completing. Engineering systems are used to prevent high-risk attacks from happening. There are a lot of career options that deal with both cybersecurity and engineering such as computer engineers, system engineers, electrical engineers, and so much more. 

A major that is very similar to cybersecurity that odu offers is computer science. These two also go hand in hand. They both work with computers and technology to help create new things and prevent bad things from happening. A lot of people double major in these two because they are so similar. Although cybersecurity is a broader field a lot of computer science is used every day when dealing with cybersecurity. 

Lastly, a major that ODU offers that is related to cybersecurity is education. Education revolves a lot around technology, especially in the past decade. We use mainly technology now due to covid and the development of computers, zoom, blackboard, etc. Cybersecurity is very important because it is a lot of technology that needs to be monitored for a lot of people all over the world. People are getting hacked every day and with more young people having access to technology it makes it easier for that to happen. 

Overall, there are a lot of other majors that use and need cybersecurity in their everyday careers, I just named a few in order that I believed were the most important. Cybersecurity and technology are used a lot more than I thought it was especially now with how rapidly we are developing in technology.
