Cyber technology has created many opportunities for workplace deviance by giving employees the ability to misuse and steal sensitive data from a company. This can be done in numerous ways but, some things that will cause major risks to that can be done by either sharing or selling confidential data. In addition, the employees are also at high risk of losing their jobs, if, they are caught by their employers, but since it is easy for these employees to exploit their companies due to their authorized access to the data, It takes much longer for the company to find where the leaks are coming from. For example, Jones (2024, Para. 2) talks about the different cyber crimes that can be done, which are, Data Theft, Hacking Company Systems, Insider Trading, IT Sabotage, Installing Ransomware, Software Piracy, Cyber Espionage, Identity Theft, and Cryptojacking. Unfortunately, an employee can easily commit any of these crimes if they really wanted to because it would not be that difficult due to their limited but, authorized access to their company’s information.
