ATA4:
The love questionnaire analyzed different aspects of my romantic relationships. Though I haven’t had a serious relationship in a couple years, it still allowed me to evaluate my strengths and weaknesses regarding love. I found that friendship is at the core of my intimate relationships. This assignment reminded me of the the Briggs Myers personality test I took in a previous psychology course. I had to write a paper about the analysis of an ENTP personality. Now that I recognize my romantic weakness, hopefully I can correct them for future endeavors.

A visual demonstration of my love life.

Assignment 3 was an analysis of the outburst experienced by Michael Richards during a standup comedy act. I discussed that I found his comments a mixture of rage and racism. While completing this assignment and watching Richards’ outbursts, I learned that anger can bring out the worst qualities in us. His tirade is a good example of how not to act when you get mad at someone. This assignment is similar to a previous assignment I completed in an ethics course. For that task, I had to discuss whether or not prejudice is something humans are born with, or taught. I believe people behave with racist tendencies because of their environment and upbringing.

I chose the above image to show that we are all the same on the inside. Skin color doesn’t make one race superior to an other. To dislike an individual based on skin color is simple-minded. I was taught that people shouldn’t be judged by their physical appearance. They should be judged by their character.
ATA2:
Assignment two was a great way to reflect on my life and evaluate my progression throughout the years. I usually don’t take many pictures unless I feel that the moment is important. I think this fact helped with the assignment. I could see my priorities shift over the past few years. I went from being focused on partying to being focused on my professional career and continuing my education. It was a great opportunity to reflect on my past and also to see how far I’ve come. This assignment reminded me of a cultural group project I completed in a previous psychology course where myself and other classmates from various backgrounds presented a collaboration of our interests and priorities.

ATA1:
Assignment one gave me a better understanding of heuristics and how they commonly affect daily decisions. I found that I also use this decision-making process frequently. For example, I’m scared to death to get on an airplane due to watching television and the news, despite the fact that I have a better chance of crashing my car on the way to work. This assignment also relates to my nursing courses. Nursing emphasizes critical thinking and to look at an issue from multiple angles. This assignment was a reminder not to get complacent with assessments and to evaluate all possible solutions to patient care. This was a valuable lesson to always be conscious of how I tackle a problem.
