Unfortunately, I did not learn how to speak Spanish fluently, but I did learn enough to get through basic interactions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have found that it was more helpful being immersed in it rather than learning it in a classroom. During my military time, I was exposed to several different countries and cultures, so my worldview was already pretty open. I did notice a difference between Spain and South American dialects and cultures. I previously had thought that Spanish was Spanish no matter where you went, but I was able to see the differences first-hand, which was pretty neat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Engaging in Communities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This value is different for everyone. I don&#8217;t place much value in my immediate community because I am not attached\/invested in my immediate community. I think a large portion of that is due to not being a homeowner. I do see value in the idea of a community, just not the one I am currently in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Interpersonal Communication<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I did not complete any outside activities related to Spanish this semester. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Presentational Speaking<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I did not complete any presentational speaking activities related to Spanish this semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Presentational Writing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I did not complete any writing related to Spanish this semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Interpretive Listening<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I did not complete any listening activities related to Spanish this semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Interpretive Reading<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I did not complete any communication activities related to Spanish this semester.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational Modes of Communication Exploring Culture I was stationed in Spain for 3 years, so I learned a lot about the culture while I was there.
