I think one thing I learned in this class that I will take with me through my career is how diverse cell communication can be. I want a career that lets me work in a lab, probably with plants as they’ve become a hobby, but understanding how cells talk to one another or themselves is going to be important. It will give me the basic knowledge to later on make inferences or alter specific experiments, depending on what I’m looking into. It’s also just interesting in its own way, because the fact that cells have so many different ways to communicate just shows how unique they are, especially for being so small. I think the knowledge I’m taking away from this class will definitely help in the last few classes I need before I graduate, but it’s also given me an appreciation for how powerful a single cell can be.
