Personal Statement <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Horace, a famous Roman poet, once said, \u201cRemember to keep a clear head in difficult times.\u201d This quote has guided me through delightful and sorrowful moments in my life, from riding my first roller coaster to dealing with the death of my late grandfather. I want to pursue a career in medicine because I enjoy meeting new people, being challenged, and aiding those in need. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Humans are a unique set of species. We come in all different shapes, sizes, colors, and tones. I interact with people every day of my life, and I enjoy taking the time to get to know individuals and those around me. To be more proactive and meet new people, I\u2019m in multiple student organizations and events at my school. The Vietnamese Student Association once held a culture workshop for the celebration and history of the Lunar New Year. I attended this workshop and met a multitude of people, and I consider some of them my closest friends to this very day. Being able to step out of my comfort zone to communicate and connect with others has allowed me to have better knowledge of the world. I understand that this particular skill set will further assist me, in the future, in conversing with a patient, their family member, or a fellow doctor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            During my high school career, there was a point in my life when familial and financial problems hindered my ability to focus, and this predicament clouded my goal of becoming a doctor. However, I didn\u2019t let this obstacle hold me back. I kept a clear head and challenged myself to move forward with this career path. I continued to work hard and keep up with my studies throughout high school. I soon graduated high school with honors, straight A\u2019s, and over a 4.0 GPA. These accomplishments granted me the ability to receive multiple scholarships from different colleges. My dedication, effort, and passion to one day become a medical professional have permitted me to succeed in my past and current studies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            It takes a certain mentality and mindset to evolve into a physician. Wanting to improve and support those who request medical attention says something about a person\u2019s character. One day, one of my supervisors at the food bank where I volunteer pulled me aside at the end of our shift and expressed how grateful she was about how I took time out of my day to bag random people\u2019s groceries. At that moment, her statement reinforced my pursuit of becoming a doctor. I enjoy doing acts of service for people and putting a smile on their faces, especially those who aren\u2019t able to access certain resources.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            I desire to become a doctor because I\u2019m outgoing and communicative, and I enjoy problem-solving and providing help to those in need. With a positive mindset, I have persevered through all the trials and tribulations in my life. I have overcome many barriers and hardships to be where I am today; therefore, I intend to utilize my strengths and knowledge about our world to continue my pursuit of becoming a medical professional.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
