Defining and Describing the Primary Article, Review Article, and Peer Review Process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            A primary article is an original scientific report of the latest and most recent research findings. The researchers who conducted the experiment or analysis would be the ones to draft the primary article themselves. This type of article can also be called as an empirical article. These types of articles are also usually examined by professionals before they are published, or peer reviewed. The usual sections found in a primary article is the introduction, method, results, discussion, and references categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            A review article is a summary of the primary article or the original research. These types of articles also usually summarize a specific subject found in a research item. They are useful in helping people by providing a toned-down or easy-to-read scientific summary of a particular research topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            The scientific peer review process is done by first having the researcher submit a draft of their research article in a scholarly journal. Then, the editor of the journal sees if the article would be a good fit for their journal. If it is, the editor passes along the researcher\u2019s article to be peer reviewed by a group of experts in the same field to evaluate its quality. The scholars doing the peer review check to see if the researcher\u2019s approach or procedure has been fully described in detail. They also look to see if there are any errors or mistakes of mathematical calculations or statistics. Another piece of information that they look for in the peer review process is if the researcher\u2019s findings support their claim. Once the experts have decided whether the article is worthy of publication in the journal, they then make a recommendation to the editor to either approve or reject it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Out of the two given articles the primary article is the article titled \u201cPermanent inactivation of Huntington\u2019s disease mutation by personalized allele-specific CRISPR\/Cas9.\u201d I believe that this article is the primary article because it contains an introduction, results, discussion, methods, and references headings. The review article is \u201cHuntington\u2019s Disease: Mechanisms of Pathogenesis and Therapeutic Strategies.\u201d This article is the review article because it summarizes about Huntingtin\u2019s disease and there is little to no specificity about the method or discussion of the research.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
