While serving, I&#8217;ve had many opportunities to expand my knowledge and experience across multiple career fields. The first fifteen years in the Navy, I specialized in the maintenance and repair of electronic and instrumentation control equipment for nuclear reactor control and safety systems, while supervising power plant operations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I commissioned in 2020 as Surface Warfare Officer, where I had the opportunity to drive a multi-million dollar warship and lead the training program for the crew, ensuring all Sailors were prepared to successfully execute deployments and multinational exercises. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I transitioned to cybersecurity and information technology four years ago, turning my life-long passion for computers into a professional career. As the Communication and Information Systems deputy department head for the Navy&#8217;s CISSP, I directed a diverse team of Sailors and civilians to sustain the Navy&#8217;s global defensive cyberspace architecture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am continuing my education for both professional and personal development at Old Dominion University, by pursuing a Master of Science in Cybersecurity  with a concentration in AI for Cybersecurity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Originally from Waco, Texas, I joined the Navy directly out of high school in 2004.
