Sydnee Brady grew up in Newport News, studied sport management at Old Dominion University earning her bachelor\u2019s in 2022, and is expected to finish her master\u2019s this May. She gained extensive experience working in ODU Athletics, even before graduating. Sydnee has had prominent roles in athletic facilities, event operations, student recreation, and game management across multiple sports. She currently serves as the Athletic Facilities and Events Coordinator, managing daily operations for several athletic complexes, overseeing renovations, scheduling, and coordinating all aspects of game-day operations. She also works as the visiting team liaison for football and serves on the Title IX\/Gender Equity Committee while supervising student workers.



When I learned about this assignment I immediately thought of Sydnee Brady as an option for a Sport Professional Penpal, mostly due to the fact of already having contacted her before. After assessing my options I ultimately decided on choosing Sydnee for this assignment. My choice revolved around the good professional relantionship I already have with Sydnee, as for another class I had to contact her in order to get a fieldwork experience. She was always quick to answer my emails and my questions, and I really enjoyed working with her. Facility and event management was always an area within sports I liked, but I wouldn\u2019t say it was one of my favorites, but getting to work with Sydnee and her team, and after seeing their excitment to work behind the scenes and make everything happen made more interested in this area of Sports. So, my interest in the facility and event management together with the fact of already knowing Sydnee were the deciding factors to select her as my Sport Professional Penpal. After reaching out to her asking for her permission and availability, she quickly responded and provided a short bio about herself that I could use in this assignment.
