Cybersecurity and The Social Sciences

To me, the pictures below represent the various challenges faced when thinking about the sociological side of cybersecurity. Technology is made by humans, for humans, so we have to consider how user-friendly our software is when we design it, because confusing software leads to human error and frustration. But how we improve and use technology is vital too. There’s an increasing concern about the improper and invasive use of technology, such as personal information being used to push ads to users, and people are becoming even more complacent with worsening services. Cybersecurity and social sciences are closely intertwined, so both should be taken seriously when evaluating the impact technology has on society.
