My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Ecology. Furthermore, I am a credentialed Medical Laboratory Scientist through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). This portfolio highlights some of my graduate coursework and competencies from the graduate program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But first, let me explain my journey to a career in Public Health&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shortly after I received my undergraduate degree, I worked as a field ecologist for a private consulting firm. During that time, I observed firsthand how much anthropogenic behaviors impact our environment. I witnessed the disruption of ecosystems as a result of long-wall mining, and I saw how fracking affected landowners\u2019 mental health as gas leeched into their water sources. After a few years in the field, I returned to academics, enrolling in a clinical laboratory science program. Since finishing the program in 2013, I have worked in clinical laboratories as a generalist, microbiology technician, and currently, as a flow cytometry technologist. While working in patient care, I found myself yearning for a career that could integrate both environmental and human health. I studied One Health at Auburn University, taking courses in Public Health and Disease Ecology, which led me to pursue an MPH at Old Dominion University <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi, I am Tiffany Molinick and I will be graduating with a Master of Public Health from Old Dominion University in May 2022.
