Cybersecurity programs are a crucial part of business in the 21st century. Without one you are leaving your business wide open forĀ cyber attacks that could easily disrupt the flow of your business or worse. These are the pros and cons of having a cybersecurity system in place for your business. The positive effects of having a cybersecurity system for your business is pretty straight forward. First of all it protects valuable information that you may have from hacking, so no unauthorized person will get ahold of it. A security system like this will also boost company reputation, more people will want to work with you knowing that you can keep their information safe and it wont get out into the wrong hands. Cybersecurity systems do have some negative effects to them as well however. First off it costs money to get a system into place and in working condition, This includes training employees, hiring cybersecurity experts to assist in the creation of the system, and the actual installation of the systems itself. All of these parts cost some money so it’ll take an investment up front to ensure information safety. The second negative effect of this is giving a false sense of security. Some people when getting a cybersecurity system installed feel like that nothing can affect them anymore and the information they are storing is completely safe, which is not true. Yes while having these systems in place it makes the information much safer but not completely safe. There is still risk of someone getting through the firewalls and getting to the information so you should always stay on alert even with systems in place. These are some positive and negative consequences of having cybersecurity systems installed for a business. Personally I think the pros outweigh the cons and businesses should get cybersecurity systems installed no matter the cost because it could save them from lots of attacks.
