This is an important class considering I want to be a manager for an accounting firm one day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I learned the following topics: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Strategic Human Resource Management<ul><li>Business strategy<\/li><li>Costs of turnover<\/li><li>Evaluation &amp; control<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Legal Issues of Human Resources<ul><li>Civil Rights Act of 1964 <\/li><li>Civil Rights Act of 1991<\/li><li>Equal Pay Act of 1963<\/li><li>Age Discrimination Employment Act of 1967<\/li><li>Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Human Resource Planning &amp; Recruitment<ul><li>Labor supply and demand<\/li><li>Internal recruitment<\/li><li>External recruitment<\/li><li>Recruitment methods<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Selection Methods<ul><li>Interviews<\/li><li>Ability tests<\/li><li>Personality tests<\/li><li>References<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Training<ul><li>Training process<\/li><li>Training methods<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I also completed a group project. My group members and I were assigned to choose three selection methods to use for a client service consultant and an implementation specialist, two different positions at ADP.  We had to explain our reasoning behind them.  For the client service consultant, we chose a personality test, a cognitive ability test, and an interview. For the implementation specialist, we chose a personality test, references, and an interview.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By the end, I had learned much more about the selection methods. I now know the value of using multiple selection methods to determine whether or not an applicant is the right fit for an organization.
