This assignment was designed to assess the knowledge that students have of economic and political systems prior to any instruction in the classroom. The matching format allows students to showcase any prior knowledge they have of the subjects that can be very closely related. Economic and political systems are closely related and some of the different titles are so similar that they are easily confused.
This assignment provides alignment with the course standards while providing a guide to see what needs to be reviewed in the classroom more in depth compared to other subjects. This will provide me with a guideline for future assignments, and I will be able to measure the students understanding of the topics. This formative assessment tool allows me to ensure that students will gain a full understanding of the different topics because it will allow me to see where to begin in my instruction. A vocabulary tool is essential to gain a basic understanding of the different levels of understanding within the classroom, and I begin my lessons with one anytime I deem it necessary.
