The Human Factor in Cybersecurity

Human behavior has a major impact on cybersecurity. Cybersecurity is more about human behavior than just technology because most security problems start with the people and their responsibilities of implementing can lead to chaos. By removing people and adding transparency to the cyber world can secure or protect data from being leaked. Many data security solutions allow people to decide which files to protect, encrypt, or omit. Many critics believe administrators and privileged users should only have access to selectively opt-out particular files. By doing this solution, many enterprises and organizations will be protected internally and externally from threats. The reasons that people should be removed from implementing files is because the world is just too dangerous, manual methods can’t keep up, too much sharing is hard to manage, and some data breaches are intentional. The reason the world is too dangerous is because data is very risky to have every user sharing and accessing it. The reason that manual methods can’t keep up is because there is too much data being created and a large amount that is not being protected. Too much sharing is hard to manage because there are too many alternative ways for content to be shared, edited, and stored. Some data breaches are intentional because people or employees can mess up an organization’s security. The solutions to these problems is to take account of how data is being used, automatically log data, adapt to new tools, and stay in compliance. By using these solutions and social engineering, organizations can be able to maintain their protected and secure data. Using social engineering, can help us understand the human psychology that is displayed in cybersecurity. These are the methods or solutions that cybersecurity should consider using in the future and the reasons why human behavior has a major impact in the cyber world.
