Designing the Public Sphere

Over the years, technology has evolved and continues to adapt to modern day society. Technology has been regulated or limited differently in markets, bussinesses, groups, and individuals in multiple ways over the course of time. The regulation or limitation of technology among businesses is used to protect the rights of the employees and corporations. When it comes to the regulations and limitations of technology amongst individuals, there is a separation between the two. The relationship between technology and humans has always been complicated in the material world. As individuals, we should start learning our relations and boundaries with technology. For instance, Verbeek discussed that understanding the relations between humans and technology has been one of the central activities of the philosophy of technology in the past century. Another benefit that technology has provided us to go around these regulations and limitations is being able to have access to the world in ways we did not know there was. For example, Google Glass is a new informational technology that was developed to help people see and interact with the world in a whole different way. In my opinion, the key to the regulations or limitations to technology is cell phones and computers. Both are everyday devices that we use and help people learn new things about the evolution of the world. Overall, there are many different regulations and limitations to technology among markets, businesses, groups, and individuals in the face of diminishing state power, but it going to take us as a whole to help each other understand them.
