General Botany

The General Botany course at ODU (BIOL 308) is your gateway to specialized courses in plant biology. We are transforming this course to provide students with the most up-to-date introduction to plant biology. These transformations will involve unique experiences that not only provide a foundation for students to develop an understanding of plant form and function but also give students practical experience in developing technical and professional skills. For example, students may participate in semester-long research projects, group research, or micro-internships. All of the experiential learning activities are designed to give students hands-on practical experience to go along with a foundational knowledge in plant biology. Whether students take botany as an elective or for a specific program, they are sure to experience how plants relate to their lives now and in the future.
