Privacy and Confidentiality is taking the necessary steps for maintaining privacy and confidentiality is the primary issue and challenges every organization faces while storing the individual information electronically. The individuals information should be only shared with the other persons if they are allowed, authorized and right person to be shared. Individuals data must be protected using secured protection mechanism. When this data is used to be shared through network channel then there should be effective encryption mechanism implemented for secure transmission of the electronic data. We can maintain the confidentiality of the data by creating a mechanism due to which only authorized persons can have access to the individuals electronic data. By using such methods we can implement and maintain confidentiality and privacy of individuals electronic data. Another ethical issue is Data and Security Breaches. Data and Security Breaches currently are various kinds of data as well as security breaches are occurring on electronic data. Due to which there should be necessary mechanism by which we can avoid data and security breaches. Security and data breaches occurred in a situation when the individuals electronic data is made available to third person / party without the permission from the individuals and also without identifying the right authorized person. The application of two way authentication systems using password and tokens can help in avoiding data and security breaches. Another ethical issue is System Implementation challenges .There are different system implementation challenges which need to be solved for storing electronic information about individuals in a secured system storage. Following are some of the challenges such as:

Less efficient system

Lack of resources required for secure storage of electronic data

Proper use of storage platform and services

Wasting of resources, etc

Last ethical issue I chose would be Data integrity issues Data integrity issues happens when there is inaccurate and duplicate electronic information about individuals appeared in the system. Data integrity issues directly affect and quality and the services of the system. Because of this it should be managed well so that there should not be inaccuracies, errors and duplicate data in the system

Due to the rapidly increasing advancement in technology, it has integrated as an essential tool in our modern society. Ranging from banking and finance, transportation, education, and military advancement. These sectors all rely on automated systems to function the way they should be. Considering all these facts, imagine what would happen if airline systems and finance networks will be compromised because of state-sponsored cyber attacks. It will have a great impact on all aspects of the economy. Based on the record, in terms of threats faced by the United States of America Russia and China poses a great threat of nation sponsored attacks. Over the past years, these two giants have been successful in exercising their cyber arsenal against the US network defenses. Russia has been compromising U.S. political entities to mention the Democratic National Committee. It is also said they are the ones responsible for taking down critical infrastructures such as power plants, nuclear generators, and water facilities. These attacks could make a critical impact and could result in catastrophic scenarios. Another notable threat was China’s attack that has caused compromised information of at least 20 million federal employees. This increasing and sophisticated cyber threats will not only affect the US infrastructures but to the Global economy and other countries as a whole. Serious security measures and efforts should be implemented to address and mitigate these future risks.

References:

· Atherton, K.
