I have not yet found a pen-pal because I have been dealing with a family emergency and it has really taken a lot out of me to try and get through this situation. However, I absolutely plan on finding one very soon, as the instructor made an announcement allowing a little extra time to find the right pen-pal while still completing the assignment on time. I want a pen-pal with the profession of a sport psychologist or some type of mental health worker for athletes. I am highly interested in understanding the insights of this position from someone with more experience. What I am looking for in my pen-pal is someone who doesn\u2019t just show bias to their favorite teams or show hatred against their rivals. Sport media is about showing honest talent amongst the players, and as professionals we need to be held to that same standard. They must also show interest in helping other people because this position isn\u2019t just about the money it can bring in, but rather making a difference and a change for the better. Mental health is a crucial factor in sports that needs to be paid attention to. Too many athletes deal with a heavy mental battle that they feel they have to fight by themselves while still displaying excellent physical skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If doing these things seems like an interest for the pen-pal, then that will help establish a first connection. I do not have any other requirements for my pen-pal, as they can be any gender, race, or culture. I recognize the bonus opportunities we both can have by communicating our thoughts and ideas with each other, not just for the course but hopefully someone to remain in contact with in the future as well.
