The first essay I wrote in Writing for College Success was about how high school prepared me for college. I chose this prompt because I wanted to ease my way into the class in order to get a feel for the grading process. Once I realized that the main point in writing these essays is to pass the writing sample placement test, I learned to re-read my essays in order to get rid of any grammatical errors. This severely improved my writing skills.<\/p>\n
So far, this class is not too difficult yet. I have only had trouble with one assignment and that is the ePortfolio website. To be completely honest, I believe the website is a waste of time and I do not see how it can benefit my writing skills. I do see how it could potentially benefit my website designing skills but other than that, it is pointless. Maybe the website can benefit other students, but it will not benefit me. In fact, I believe it will bring my grade in this course down a few points.<\/p>\n
Another thing that I noticed about this course is that it can be passed with an A if one just studies and does the work assigned. The work is almost like busy work, it is not too hard, but it does take some time in order to finish the assignments. Overall, I feel like this class is not too difficult for me yet but it will be soon when we start to get into the heavier coursework. If I can focus on the ePortfolio website assignment and get all the journals done, then I believe that I can pass this class with at least a B. One other thing that can also be beneficial for me from this class is that I get to see how other people write. The peer review system is actually very helpful and is something that is forced on the students to help them learn to write better.<\/p>\n\n\n
