A computer must also be protected against malware and virus attacks by acquiring a versatile Antivirus.

Other means will also include; securing the computer with a strong password and user authentications, investing in security software. Knowing the data processed on a computer will determine the amount of security it needs. There is a variety of data that draws unauthorized individuals’ attention, including banking and financial information, mission planning, and tactics information. Also, understanding personal vulnerabilities and threats help as well. A great knowledge base is needed to keep up with a computer’s safety and the network servers connected. Spear Phishing is a basic way hackers gain access to the computers we use. This is basically sending an email with a follow-up link; when the link is accessed on the computer, the hacker gains access to the computer and can alter any information they need. Some go employing a phone call requesting you log in as they are calling from Microsoft to help you upgrade to the newer version. Then they gain access remotely and retrieve whatever information they need. It is imperative computer users think through the process and whom they give access to on their computer. Hackers come in various forms considering the level of knowledge made public in the last decade.

One can only tell how safe their computer is by assessing themselves and what they do or allow to be done with or on their computer.
