Activities of our present-day and age are heavily networked and computer-dependent from work, school, building a social life and keeping up with friends worldwide. One may say the world is safer today, and others may say it has become less safe. In my opinion, it is highly dependent on the area of consideration. There are enormous advantages to introducing computers and how it has made life easier and smoother, even though there are some crippling disadvantages.
Computers have improved our education system in various ways. Students had to spend an awful amount of time at the library flipping through pages to gain information on discussion topics. Today, computers and networking have made it easy to access online books, images, audio, and videos. The information bank available through the internet allows people to take full advantage and consume themselves with knowledge. Computer technology brought about online schooling, which has made it flexible for everyone who cannot physically be in class to achieve a degree online.
Computer networking and technology has drastically changed our communication pattern. Technological advancement introduced the present generation to the many new electronic communication methods, social networking, voicemails, emails, and even video conferences compared to postal office services and telegrams. Computer networking has improved our relationships, education, and businesses, for which communication is a big part. For people in my field of work, this has made deployments easy as it is easy to reach out to the family from across the world. Communication is vital in keeping a relationship alive. A disadvantage experienced in this type of communication is where people can lose sight of the physical surroundings overindulging in social media to the point where they lose track of time and duties.
Another industry that has benefitted massively from the introduction of computers and networking is the medical field. The computer has brought significant research breakthroughs for the health field in the last decade. Laboratory technicians and Doctors can arrive at breathtaking conclusions on vaccinations that would have taken several years in the past. Other than just the labs and medical improvements, software engineers are also developing programs for these computers and phones that help read vital stats of people instead of waiting to go to the hospital.

With all that good and positive outcome, we cannot forget the speed at which scammers and hackers are wreaking havoc on humankind. It has become so sophisticated that even international police and other organizations are struggling to keep up.
