Land Use & the Chesapeake Bay

Most of Virginia’s major rivers drain into the Chesapeake Bay, the Potomac, Rapahannock, York, and the James rivers. This GeoInquiry examines how people affect the environment of the Chesapeake Bay through various economic activities: shipbuilding, shipping, fishing, agriculture, and manufacturing.

As this GeoInquiry addresses the Virginia Science Standards, it uses the framework of the 5 Es: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate.
