My intended major is Medical Laboratory Science. My interest in medical lab started in high school where I completed a Capstone Senior Project. I dedicated my research to the lab of hematology and I shadowed a laboratory technologist at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital to better understand the field. From there, my fascination with blood testing grew and I imagined myself in a lab coat. Another detail I appreciated was that medical laboratory personnel have limited patient interaction, which fits well with my introverted character. The work behind the scenes is something I admire deeply, and I hope to raise awareness about this crucial field. I have a passion for science and I believe this career suits me, which is why I want to graduate with a degree in medical laboratory science.
