What does psychology have to do with marketing?

Psychology is the most significant part of marketing! On the market today, we see products that
are not vastly different from each other, but the way they market to the consumer makes the real
winner. For example, let’s examine Coca-Cola and Pepsi; these two companies have products
that taste the same. Not a matter of personal opinion, but surveys of the blind test have proven
that consumers have trouble differentiating the difference between both products. The reason
why most people choose Coke over Pepsi is because of marketing. Particular advertisements
make the customers love the product; they want to be a part of the bigger mission, the renowned
objective. You want to speak your customer’s language; they do not care about the technical
Jargon but how your product will make them feel and enhance their lives. When Steve Jobs and
Steve Wozniak created the Macintosh computer, Apple released its first big advertisement in
1984. Readers of George Orwell’s ‘1984’ know that the book grounds itself in a dystopian society
in which there was a telescreen in which big brother would spy on people. Apple decided to
emerge the same year, breaking the fear of this happening to the world with a product that brings
color and life to people’s homes. In a commercial, the large Telescreen was broken, and the
macintosh is the product behind the screen. That kind of marketing and advertising hits home
with customers.

2. What does psychology have to do with marketing?
